SAHRA ESMONDE-WHITE
Teaches in English and French
Sahra is the co-founder and CEO of Essentrics. She has produced 300+ fitness shows and several award-winning PBS documentaries on healthy aging. Named one of North America’s top health experts by Fashion Magazine and Flare, Sahra has over 20 years of teaching experience. She has trained the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Torontonian actress Sarah Gadon, star of the acclaimed Netflix miniseries Wayward and Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace. With graduate studies in public health, Sahra has made it her mission to help women lead healthy lives through intelligent fitness and a thoughtful lifestyle.
ALEXA LEON
Teaches in English and French
Alexa has been teaching Essentrics since 2012 and is an Essentrics TV host. She has assisted several retreats and workshops held by the Essentrics Head Office. Holding a master’s degree in social work and couples and family therapy, Alexa works as a psychotherapist in Montreal. She loves connecting with people of all ages around movement and helping them feel strong, energetic, and healthy in both mind and body.
ELLYN OCHS
Teaches in English and French
Ellyn has been teaching Essentrics since 2016. She loves teaching group classes that bring together people of all ages and sharing the technique as an Essentrics TV host. Ellyn has also led Level 1 trainings and enjoys mentoring future instructors. She has worked at the Essentrics Head Office since 2020 as an editor and content writer, contributing to teacher training and marketing projects.
MARIE EVE GOSEMICK
Teaches in English and French
Marie Eve has been teaching Essentrics since 2015 and is an enthusiastic advocate for movement. A digital strategy director in her day job and a published fiction writer, she knows what it’s like to spend too much time in front of a screen. To balance it out, she teaches ballet-inspired fitness classes.
MARINE CHEVANNE
Teaches in English and French
Marine swam competitively for nearly a decade, and discovered Essentrics in 2015, while looking to get (back) into shape. Marine credits these regular classes with transforming her physical health and helping her develop greater confidence in herself and in her body’s capabilities. Marine began teaching in 2018 and Essentrics has been an integral part of her life ever since.
MAUDE DESJARDINS
Teaches in English and French
Maude brings over 20 years of movement teaching experience to her work as an instructor and Essentrics TV host. Her background includes more than a decade of training Olympic athletes in trampoline gymnastics, as well as teaching dance since 2001 and Pilates. She has been teaching Essentrics since 2013 and has worked at the Essentrics Head Office since 2014 in event planning and production.
SARAH GIBSON
Teaches in English and French
Sarah graduated from the École supérieure de ballet du Québec and joined the Alberta Ballet before dancing with Les Grands Ballets for over a decade. Sarah has been teaching Essentrics since 2012 and is happy to share her knowledge of movement through her classes. She has also taught classical ballet and contemporary dance to both dance students and figure skaters.
STEPHANIE HURLBURT
Teaches in English and French
Stephanie was first introduced to Essentrics in 2016 and immediately fell in love with the discipline. She had suffered years of chronic back pain due to injury, and thanks to Essentrics, she is delighted to be living pain-free. Her love for this fitness technique led her to start teaching Essentrics in 2019.
VAHÉ YEGOYAN
Teaches in English and French
Vahé discovered Essentrics in 2014 through his practice of many movement disciplines and sports. He began teaching Essentrics in 2017 to students of all ages and walks of life, and especially enjoys working with youth, athletes, dancers and artists. Vahé completed the Concordia University Professional Coaching Program and is currently enrolled in a mindfulness meditation teacher certification.
