Fitness fashion is always fun! You can play with color and patterns all year long—especially during summertime. It’s not time to match, but to go bold and be creative. Case in point, co-founder of Essentrics, Sahra Esmonde-White recently paired a bright solid color top with a multi-colored, dynamic patterned capri for an exclusive magazine shoot. Her outfit is from the high-end UK brand, Lucas Hugh, which she swears by due to their level of comfort, quality and fashion forward designs.
Other stylish North American brands include Lululemon and Lolé, which have been pushing the trend of bright, bold patterned leggings this past season. Patterns can be scary, but by choosing the right combination of color and style, you will stand out from all the black leggings we currently see at gyms and studios.
Another UK brand we love is Sweaty Betty—they have a trendy dance wear collection that focuses a lot on layering. If you’re looking to change up your wardrobe, try wearing a longer top or a bodysuit with a crop top. As an instructor, it’s great to STAND OUT—so make it a point this summer to be creative and have fun with your outfits!
Summer is finally here and we want to make sure our legs are looking toned and shaped when we’re relaxing by the pool, going for a hike, running in a park or biking around town! Essentrics has several exercises that target the legs—one of our favorites this summer being Plies. Perfect for slenderizing and toning the quads, plies help build strength which in turn protects the knees and boosts energy.
As an added bonus: since quads are among the largest muscles in our body, our metabolism will increase as they get stronger, which will also help with weight loss. Explain these benefits to your clients and they will be asking for more!
Each month, we will be highlighting the accomplishments of a unique certified Essentrics instructor who has shown initiative in terms of promoting their talent, classes and/or teaching services within their community. We encourage all of you to participate in local events and get your name known!
We’d like to introduce one of our fellow instructors, Kimberly Woodring! Kimberly was certified in Level 1 this past March and is currently teaching classes in New Mexico. This coming June, she’ll be teaching an Essentrics class at a wonderful event called Relay for Life—a community initiative to raise awareness for cancer prevention and help raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Kimberly was recently featured in a newsletter written by Gale O’Brien; an author, motivational speaker and cancer survivor, who has also benefited from the technique.
Way to go Kim!
